I love wildflowers! I'm trying to create this beautiful country wildflower garden in my yard. It's coming along very slowly. I understand this job will require much patience...
So far, I've been shaking seed over a small area for the past two years. Most of the flowers have found their way outside of my property and they get mowed down when the grass is cut. (sigh)
I planted wisteria about 4 years ago and it finally came to bloom, but unfortunately, I planted it too close to my fence and had to prune it back and it hasn't recovered. I think I killed it. (sigh)
My grandfather had the most romantic rose garden and I'm trying to recreate that. I have some success with roses. I've found that the more I leave them alone, the better they do. Whenever I try to apply what I've read into practice, I can barely get 5 blossoms out of an entire bush.
My favorite flower is the daisy. I would love to devote an entire space in my garden for all types. That's what I'll focus on this year.
I love herbs and veggies. I have a beautiful lavender bush that I can't wait to harvest and add to my soaps that I make. My veggies don't fare too well. I can't seem to keep the pests away.
Well, it's raining here this morning and I was going to visit our local garden center to find something new for my garden, but I guess it will have to wait.....
